Account Manager

Position Overview:

Night Owl National Contractors, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and results-driven Account Manager to manage client relationships and oversee the coordination of various project activities. The Account Manager will act as a key point of contact for clients, ensuring their needs are met by providing tailored solutions, overseeing the bid process, and managing ongoing projects. This role requires strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work closely with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients. The ideal candidate will possess both field and office expertise, with a focus on delivering high-quality service and fostering long-term relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Client Engagement:

  • Serve as the primary contact for client-generated bid requests, including service and CapEx jobs.
  • Investigate on-site issues, providing expertise to develop the best solutions and scope of work.
  • Lead emergency response efforts when necessary, acting swiftly to address client needs.
  • Conduct walk-throughs of current projects to assess progress and address client concerns.
  • Perform budget walks, gathering necessary information for accurate project cost projections.
  • Discuss revisions to submitted bids and manage change orders to existing contracts.
  • Follow up on submitted bids, ensuring timely communication with clients.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through regular check-ins and service follow-ups.
  • Conduct property walks to gather data and develop detailed scopes of work.
  • Assist with marketing efforts to attract new clients and expand business opportunities.

Office Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed scopes of work and write project quotes for client approval.
  • Prepare project budgets and estimate job costs in the absence of hard quotes from subcontractors.
  • Review and assist in approving vendor and subcontractor invoices.
  • Communicate effectively via email with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal team members.
  • Analyze engineered plans as part of bid packages to ensure accurate scope development.
  • Conduct research on best products, practices, and market trends relevant to the company’s region.
  • Participate in staff meetings, providing insights and updates on client and project progress.
  • Track leads and monitor the status of quote requests and bids in the pipeline.

Field Responsibilities:

  • Meet with subcontractors on job sites to review scopes of work and gather pricing for project estimates.
  • Collaborate with project managers to review scopes for active projects and ensure project alignment.
  • Conduct quality control walks with project managers, ensuring high standards of work are met.
  • Work closely with estimators when developing quotes and scopes of work for new projects.
  • Represent Night Owl National Contractors, Inc. at industry events and client events when requested or invited.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in account management, project management, or a related field within the construction or contracting industry.
  • Strong understanding of bid processes, scope development, and project budgeting.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in project management software, estimating tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineered plans and construction documents.
  • Experience in client-facing roles and working with subcontractors is highly preferred.
