Electrical Site Superintendent (Working Superintendent)
Position Summary
The Electrical Site Superintendent is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing field operations, managing electrical crews, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. This individual will actively participate in fieldwork while providing leadership, direction, and quality control across multiple job sites. The role requires a high level of accountability, technical expertise, and the ability to manage both people and project execution effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Field Leadership & Crew Management
- Supervise and lead electrical crews on active job sites while working alongside team members as needed
- Assign daily tasks, monitor productivity, and ensure crews are operating efficiently
- Train, mentor, and develop field personnel to maintain high performance and workmanship standards
- Enforce company policies, safety standards, and job site expectations
Project Oversight & Execution
- Oversee day-to-day field operations to ensure projects are completed according to plans, specifications, and schedules
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Account Managers, and office staff to ensure alignment on project scope and timelines
- Identify and proactively resolve field issues, conflicts, or delays
- Maintain job site organization, cleanliness, and professionalism
Quality Control & Safety
- Ensure all electrical work meets code requirements, company standards, and client expectations
- Conduct regular inspections of work in progress to maintain quality and accuracy
- Enforce OSHA compliance and company safety protocols at all times
- Lead by example in maintaining a safe and productive work environment
Scheduling & Coordination
- Assist in planning manpower, materials, and equipment needs for projects
- Coordinate deliveries, subcontractors, and inspections as required
- Communicate daily progress, challenges, and updates to internal teams
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate daily reports, including labor, progress, and any issues encountered
- Track job progress against schedules and assist in identifying potential impacts to timelines or budgets
- Support change order documentation and field adjustments as needed
Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years of field experience as an electrician (required)
- Proven experience leading crews and managing job site operations
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, installation methods, and construction practices
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical documents
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities
