Job Description:
The CAD Operator at Night Owl National Stoneworks is responsible for transforming templates into accurate CAD drawings and ensuring they are delivered on time to support efficient workflow. This position involves CAD and CNC programming, close coordination with CNC machine operators, and a focus on detail and precision to meet project specifications. Additionally, the CAD Operator assists in templating, scheduling, and may provide occasional support for installation and shop operations.
Key Responsibilities:
CAD Operations and CNC Programming
- Convert templates into accurate CAD drawings promptly to maintain project schedules.
- Program the CNC Saw and CNC Router to meet job specifications with attention to detail.
- Prioritize tasks by tracking template and installation schedules, ensuring timely workflow.
- Communicate with CNC Saw and Router Operators to verify details, such as materials, profiles, and specifications.
Blueprint Scaling and Square Footage Calculation
- Accurately scale blueprints and calculate square footage for new construction projects to support planning and bidding processes.
Templating
- Create templates for commercial projects, sometimes working solo or with another team member as needed.
- Coordinate with office staff and team members for efficient scheduling and to gather necessary information for each job.
- Organize and utilize pre-drawn templates for commercial projects involving multi-unit developments.
Install Support
- Assist with installations when needed, whether for intricate jobs or to help cover staffing needs.
Shop Support
- Assist CNC operators with questions about programming or job details.
- Operate CNC machines if required, providing additional support during busy periods.
- Support the shipping team by inspecting and preparing pieces for loading as needed.
Qualifications:
- Experience in CAD operations and CNC programming preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, especially in scaling, templating, and programming for commercial projects.
- Good communication skills for effective coordination with CNC operators and other team members.
- Ability to prioritize tasks based on schedule and workload.
- Willingness to assist in various shop and installation tasks as needed.
